Operational Information
Session times
Most children attend for 2 full days, which provides
the opportunity for regular repetition of skills which have been learned and ensures
that they get maximum benefit from the program. For under 4 year olds, it is also important
that they come for more than 1 day, as it helps them to feel at home in the new environment.
Kindy children often combine going to the local kindy with 1 or 2 days at Smart Start. This
enables them to continue building on the skills they have learned during the previous years and
provides them with learning opportunities which will complement their kindy experience.
All children attend for full days, apart from those enrolled for the Wednesday afternoon session.
- We are open 41/2 days per week : Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday afternoon, Thursday, Friday
- Full day : 9:00 - 3:00 pm, children bring their own morning snack and lunch
- We remain open during the holidays, apart from a 4 or 5 week period over Christmas.
We have four 12-week terms during the year.
Class Size
The class size is 20 children with 3 teachers.
Fees
- Non-refundable application fee: $30 to be paid when lodging
the application form
- Advance fee of $200 is payable at the time a place is offered.
- The understanding is that your child will attend for the
full year.
- Fees for the full term are payable 4 weeks prior to the start of the next term or by 1 November
for term 1 of the next year.
- Fees for 2009: $29 per individual session, $55 per day.
- You do not get charged a fee for public holidays.
- Cheques can be made out to Smart Start Educational
