Health Information

A healthy mind in a healthy body

We encourage parents to adopt a lifestyle that is free from chemicals which are potentially hazardous to the children's health. A significant number of chemicals added to foods and cosmetics can cause or exacerbate health problems such as asthma, dermatitis, hives, migraines, hay fever, gastric upsets, behavioural problems, learning difficulties and many others. Even more alarming is that some of these chemicals, which are permitted in foods, personal care products and cosmetics can also cause birth defects, genetic mutations and cancer. Look no further than the foodcolourings in lollies, cakes, yoghurts, icecream: All the colours with numbers between 102 and 150 are carcinogenic and we pump them into our children with almost every meal.
With this toxic mixture that we pour into our children, it is not surprising that Dr Peter Dingle from Murdoch University has stated:

This generation of kids will not only die at an earlier age, many will die before their parents and from illnesses associated with old age. Despite the enormous amounts of money we put into our health system, we are seeing increased disease rates in children and seeing diseases that would normally not manifest until a person was in their 50s or 60s: cancer, chronic digestive problems, depression, suicide, even cardiovascular disease. Rates of ADHD and autism are also increasing. Twenty five percent of adolescents are overweight or obese and this percentage, and their degree of obesity, is growing.

We encourage parents to organise snacks and lunches that are as fresh and unprocessed as possible and to check the ingredients lists of all the packaged foods they buy. Habits instilled early in the children's life will determine what they like and dislike later on.
